Policy Statement
Yard B is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and across our supply chains.
We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to take proportionate and practical steps to ensure that modern slavery does not take place within our operations or the services we commission.
This statement is made in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reflects our commitment to responsible business practices
1. Our Business
Yard B is a creative production studio providing film, animation, motion graphics and design services to organisations across the UK and internationally. Our work is primarily remote and home-working based and is delivered through a network of trusted freelance and specialist suppliers.
2. Our Commitment
We commit to the following principles:
- Acting ethically and transparently in all business relationships.
- Treating all people with dignity, fairness and respect.
- Taking a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Working with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to responsible and lawful working practices.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains are relatively limited and primarily include:
- Freelance creative professionals and production crew.
- Equipment hire and technical service providers.
- Software and technology providers.
- Travel and accommodation providers.
We recognise that some areas of our wider supply chain may carry a higher risk than others, particularly where services are delivered internationally.
4. Due Diligence and Risk Management
We take a proportionate and risk based approach to managing modern slavery risks. This includes:
- Working with established and reputable suppliers wherever possible.
- Using written agreements or booking terms with freelancers and suppliers.
- Setting clear expectations around professional conduct and legal compliance.
- Remaining alert to potential indicators of exploitation or unfair working practices.
Where concerns are identified, we will take appropriate steps to investigate and, where necessary, end relationships that do not align with our values or legal obligations.
This statement sits alongside our wider policies, including our Ethics and Whistleblowing Policy, Sustainability Policy and Ethical Marketing and Customer Engagement Policy.
Responsibility for oversight of this statement and related actions sits with Lewis Darby, Managing Director.
5. Training and Awareness
We ensure that team members involved in production, procurement and supplier engagement understand our commitment to ethical working practices and are encouraged to raise any concerns related to potential modern slavery or exploitation.
6. Review and Accountability
This statement is reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant and proportionate to the size and nature of our business and our supply chains.
